Car Hire & Transfers


We can arrange Car Hire or Airport-Balaia-Airport transfers on your behalf through a local Algarve Company. Details are shown below but, in the case of car hire, whilst normally fairly accurate the rates shown should be considered as for guidance only; we always obtain a quotation for your specific car choice and dates before making a reservation on your behalf. All bookings are payable locally on arrival in Portugal at the Euro rate indicated. For car hire, the rate shown is per week; for hire periods of durations which are less than a full week or not multiples of full weeks, please call us for a specific quotation. For your guidance, for both car hire and transfers, an exchange rate of £1.00 = €1.40 has been used to show approximate sterling tariffs. No deposit is normally required at the time of booking. In the case of car hire rates, the season definitions are shown below the table.

Please note that we can reserve the group, not the specific model but our contacts in Portugal will always try to deliver the preferred car model where a preference is stated. All car types can be replaced with a similar type or model without notice.

Seasons:
Low Season = November through to March (inc.)
Medium Season = April, May, June and October
High Season = July, August and September

The above rates include the following:
* 7 days rental
* Unlimited free mileage
* 1 additional named drivers (on rentals for 7 days or more)
* Baby/booster seat (where required)
* Pick up and drop off (of car) - at Faro Airport between 06:00 and 23:00
or at resort between 09.00 and 18.00 (only free for bookings of 6 or more days)
* Breakdown insurance within Portugal
* All taxes
* Full insurance with Excess (see Excess information below)

Extras:
* Green card for travelling into Spain - €25.00 (£17.90) per rental
* Delivery outside above hours - €10.00 (£7.15) per rental
* Delivery surcharge where rental less than 6 days - €13.00 (£9.30) per rental

There is a Compulsory (but waivable) Excess currently as follows:
Groups A, B and C - €450.00 (£321.45) excess, can be waived on payment of €6.00 (£4.30)per day of rental;
Groups C1, D, D1, E, and H - €750.00 (£535.70) excess, can be waived on payment of €7.50 (£5.35) per day of rental;
Groups E1, F, F1, G, G1 and H1 - €1000.00 (£714.30) excess, can be waived on payment of €10.00 (£7.15) per day of rental.
Groups I an L - €1500.00 (£1071.45) excess, can be waived on payment of €15.00 (£10.71) per day of rental.
Group M - €2500.00 (£1785.70) excess, can be waived on payment of €25.00 (£17.86) per day of rental.

It should, however, be noted that this does not include damage to wheels, tyres, seats or the underside of the vehicle, damage caused by over-revving the engine and damage resulting from driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, for which the hirer/driver is responsible.


Transfers (Airport to Balaia Golf Village):

Transfers (by bus) Faro Airport/Balaia Village/Faro Airport 1 - 4 passengers - €30.00 (£21.43) each way.
Transfers (by bus) Faro Airport/Balaia Village/Faro Airport 5 - 8 passengers - €45.00 (£32.14) each way.
Baby/Child seats can be specifically requested on this service if required
