The town nearest to Balaia Golf Village is Albufeira. The distance is walkable (15-25 minutes depending on your walking speed). Here, you'll find supermarkets, restaurants of all kinds, shops, bars, clubs, and more.

We recommend taking a trip to the Albufeira Old Town, where you can relax with great food and drinks in beach-side restaurants. Some buildings and restaurants are carved into the cliffs above the beach. You'll find also street performers and the occasional beach sculpture here too. Old Town is further away (45-60 minutes walking), so you might want to consider a taxi.

The nearest beach is Praia Maria Luisa, just a five-minute walk from the Balaia entrance. Slightly further away are Praia Santa Eulália and Beach Olhos de Água. All three are gorgeous beaches with golden sands and rolling waves.

If you fancy a drink or a bite to eat, you'll find beach-side cafes at all nearby beaches. Alternatively, you could grab a few supplies from the Balaia supermarket on your way out and head down to the sands for a beach picnic.

Some beaches also have hireable pedalos, inflatables, and even boat rides.

You'll find something in Albufeira to suit any appetite. The town is home to many traditional Portuguese restaurants, where you can sample local piri piri dishes and locally caught sea food. You can also find Chinese, Indian, and Italian restaurants, as well as those offering UK & US-themed food.

If you prefer home-cooking, the Balaia supermarket has everything you need to prepare a meal, and apartment 749 comes with both a fully-equipped kitchen and a barbeque.

Exploring & Adventuring

The Algarve is home to a myriad of interesting places to explore. Head to Vilamoura Marina for an ocean boat ride and a walk around the port, or to Silves to look around its 200 BC castle. Visit the cliffs and caves of Carvoeiro, or take a tour around Almancil.

You'll find many golf courses scattered throughout the Algarve.

Balaia has its own 9-hole par three course, but if you're looking for a fresh challenge, consider visiting Pine Cliffs, or the Victoria and Millennium courses, all of which are less than a 30-minute drive away.
